SAX1G is a Bristol RELH6L coach, with ECW body, built for and initially operated by Red & White Services Ltd.
The express services that Red & White operated themselves (i.e. outside the Associated Motorways network) were summer Saturday services to Blackpool. These timetables were shown in the bus service timetable booklet, and not in the Associated Motorways timetable.
When Associated Motorways was setup in the early 1930's, Red & White placed all of its own express services in the AM pool. However, at that time the R&W group included associated companies, and these business did not participate in the AM pool. These services originated with Griffin of Brynmawr and Ralph's of Abertillery; and they only officially became R&W operations when the Griffin and Ralph businesses were fully incorporated in Red & White after nationalisation.
