The seats that I had cleaned about two years ago needed to be polished.

The cream/grey sides are rexine; the red material is leather.

The rexine tends to have stained at the back, where there is a divider in the seat frame, between the two cushions.

Destination display Feb 2020
The destination windows were mounted in an ill-fitting piece of fibreglass that had been installed when the vehicle was first preserved circa 1983. It needed to be replaced, this has been done, but now we need to determine the exact position for the windows. It seems that the position on the 1969 vehicles differed (slightly!) from that on the OAX-F batch from 1968.

The seat backs are covered with red rexine, and this has suffered over the last 50 years! the handles and stubbers (for cigarettes) are missing.

Electro-pneumatic gear selector - Feb 2020. This type of gear selector was generally used for REs with semi-automatic transmission, although the Hants & Dorset ECW-bodied pair were retro-fitted with the direct air type.
Williamsons paint sample labels
The labels for the colour samples from Williamsons. Note that these are on the reverse sides of the samples shown in the previous image - so are in reverse order!
Williamsons paint samples
These are the paint samples sent by Williamsons, the paint manufacturer based in Ripon. The vagaries of monitors, scanners and software mean that the images are not an exact match with the real thing! The correct shade of cream for Red & White is SP67141 (Golden leaf cream) - on the right in this image.
